我的iMAC銀幕開始有些一閃一閃的跳躍

My experience was 100% the same.
Lastly, the iMac died totally, I didn't buy applecare, so my iMac was sent to CINVIC for repairing. The result was my iMac being cut to pieces and I am ordering a new Quick Silver G4 733 now(iMac was trade for HK$400. only). I heard someone say that the iMac may have the same problem somewhere, good luck pal. [img]images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img]

I did not figure out the problem then.

i get an imac233, and i met the problem also. This is due to the analog board failure of the monitor. I'd changed the board last year. I hadn't bought applecare too, and the board cost hk$1500 http://ubb.frostyplace.com.tw/ubb/icons/icon4.gif. I had used my imac for about 1.5 yr. before the board failed. It seems that it is a general defect of imac. Maybe it's caused by the high temperature inside.

談談我的經驗好了：
當我的 iMac 還住在台北的時候，也是會出現螢幕閃爍，並伴隨著電擊聲的問題，而且情況日益嚴重，經向友人轉述病情時，對方告知他的 iMac 在臨終前也是這個症狀，要我有心裡準備，深怕有一天會失去她，於是我天天過著忐忑不安的日子，也隨時準備好接受這個打擊，直到帶著她搬遷到楓葉國調養之後，病情終於有了好轉。
生活在新的環境裡，由於空氣好，水質佳，她的病情似乎逐漸好轉，剛開始時還曾出現過一兩次病徵，但在我細心的呵護下，竟也漸漸的康復了，如今，她又再次語笑嫣然，完全看不出生過一場大病。
因此，跟據自身的體驗，我懷疑會造成 iMac 生病的原因，可能跟台灣氣候的溼度有關。

I found something new.
I found that the power source was not grounding, it just kill my firewire enclosure. It was suppected that the problem was caused by power leakage for a long time to my dead iMac.
I suggest you to check the power source and change the power source at least to see if the problem can be solved. Good luck!

由於是imac 233 的 display board 有問題，要成塊換，出面買不到parts 要交回蘋果，要成HKD 2300 元。但換完不出６個月又燒過，如你部機出現〞啪啪〞聲你可以用風扇吹向機頂或立刻關機，都可以頂住下先，不過始終都係同一個下場。我就係其中一個受害者！ [img]images/smiles/icon_sad.gif[/img]

SamSuiPo, New Golden Centre repairing stores will charge you $1000 for replacing the display board whenever they got the stock (used one).

On the other hand, I suggest you to buy a new one instead, iMac 350Mhz is around $4500 in Windsor House Square. Or the new QuickSilver, it is very fatastic.

It might be a power problem that I suspect. Change the power point next time or call a technician to check the power. [img]images/smiles/icon_redface.gif[/img]
